*@ RHEMA CHURCH IN RANDBURG*
MSSA Social Service team embarked on an awareness campaign on the 11th of August 2017 with Rhema Church. The women conference was organised by Rhema Church and the social service team had a stall with MS information, brochures, pamphlets and etc. People were very much interested and wanted to know more about MS, some were even asking questions related to Ms and for some it was the first time they learned or heard about MS. Social Service team were empowering and educating Rhema Church members and the community at large about MS and also about the services that the MSSA Inland Branch provide. *A word of gratitude to Rhema for giving MSSA Society an opportunity to be part of 2017 Rhema *
*@ RHEMA CHURCH IN RANDBURG*
MSSA chairperson (Thembi Sene) and social worker (Collin Kudare) were invited to Sasolburg to celebrate Women`s day. The event was organized by one of our members Heleen van Rooyen with the help from her church members (Nederduitse Hervormde Kerk). Presentations were given on what is MS, its symptoms, managing it and the services offered by MSSA Inland. More so, there was an MS patient that gave a lovely presentation on *“a day in life of a person living with MS”*. This was a wonderful way of celebrating women`s day and we hope to receive more invites like these in the future.
Please note that the venue for World MS Day has changed to Irene Country Lodge,391 Nellmapius Dr, Centurion, Gauteng

This year the 702 Walk the Talk encouraged entrants to walk for a cause and of course raising awareness of Multiple Sclerosis is very close to my heart.
Despite the cold there were thousands of entrants being the biggest mass participation sports event on the continent early Sunday morning with pets and kids as well, which was awesome, all having their personal reasons for entering the walk.
It went well; we managed to walk the 5km and 8 km respectively through the leafy suburbs of Emmarentia, Greenside and Parkview with the help of my amazing family and friends in a relatively short period of time.
We will be back bigger and better in 2016 with my mom and other MS patients.
Please join us next year as MSSA Inland Walk the talk with its members and the public!
MSSA Inland Branch was invited by Park Meadows Shopping Centre, to join an awareness campaign for charities in the spirit of Mandela Day celebrations.
We spent 4 days at Park Meadows shopping center where we managed to engage with the public and raise awareness for our organisation, we also met with some of our members who came to the stand at the mall. We really appreciate the opportunity given to us by Park Meadows and Redefine.
We would like to say a special thank you to Sherene du Pereez and her family in joining us in raising awareness and volunteering their time and assistance to MSSA Inland Branch. They also printed mugs which we are selling at R80 per mug.

Living with MS is not easy for anybody. If anyone important in your life is living with MS, learn about the disease and how it can affect sufferers, not just physically but emotionally and mentally.
Knowledge is power and will give you more a sense of control at a time when your world seems to be descending in chaos.
